Do you have 30 minutes a day to change your life?

30 minutes a day - a Netflix show, a quick scroll on Insta, a TIKTOK rabbit hole - we are all guilty of it!

Exercise is incredibly important for both your physical and mental health – but how long do you need to work out a day to make it count?

If you're a beginner, just 30 minutes of moderate activity five days a week could be all it takes for you to reap the many benefits of exercise, according to the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services).

There are SO MANY benefits that regular exercise can have as it is a highly effective way to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression, which affect millions. In addition to lowering your risks for chronic diseases, making your body move boosts your energy and improves your overall fitness.

Of course, on top of this, more energy and a leaner, healthier body can boost your self-confidence.

Thirty minutes of exercise a day may be enough, but it depends on your:

  • Weight loss goals
  • Metabolism
  • Fitness levels
  • Type of exercise you plan on doing

Can I use TRX as my 30 minute workout?

There are so many benefits that come with using a TRX. The set-up is very minimal, comprised of two straps that hang from an elevated place with loops for hands or feet. It uses your own bodyweight as resistance instead of traditional weights or machines.

Research supports that adding resistance training into your regular exercise program will aid in weight loss because it supports muscle growth, and muscle burns more calories than fat and as a result will help reduce overall body fat.

 A 30mins TRX workout can burn anywhere between 180 and 265 calories.


What about Les Mills+?

With Les Mills+ you will have a variety of different workouts to choose from, from dance to BODYPUMP – there is something for everyone. During a BODYPUMP workout you'll raise your heart rate and increase calorie burn, but more importantly, you'll strengthen, shape and tone your entire body, and also improve bone density when using the Bodypump workout. While you can expect to burn an average of 250 calories during a 30minute BODYPUMP workout.

So overall, while 30 minutes of training per day can be enough when working out as part of an exercise class or with equipment, it is recommended to keep your body moving through the day from walking. Taking regular breaks from your desk to move and stretch will help immensely and do not stay sedentary for long periods of time.
